The rates and presentation of many psychological disorders are different in men and women, yet little is known about how stress differentially influences the structure and function of brain regions implicated in these stress-sensitive psychological disorders. A current focus of the lab is examining differential effects of stress on prefrontal structure and function in males versus females, and potential contributions of gonadal hormones to those differences.
